It’s quite amazing how J.Co Donuts & Coffee have become so popular here in the Philippines at such a short period of time. Not many people know that it’s one of the most popular coffee chains in Indonesia and that it already has more than 200 branches all over the world. J.Co’s high quality coffee beans from the regions of Sumatra and Sulawesi stand out because of their unique characteristics. Its yummy array of donuts and differently flavored hot and iced handcrafted coffee beverages made its way to the hearts of Filipinos. The result of which is the opening of 37 branches all over the country (and still many more to come).

Last May 27, J.Co Donuts & Coffee opened a branch at Ayala Mall’s The District North Point in Talisay City, Negros Occidental. But prior to that (May 26), several media personalities and bloggers were invited to the store to taste what J.Co’s famous for and I’m one of the lucky few. I’m not really fond of overly sweet stuff so their many donut flavors appealed to me since they have just the right amount of sugar. Plus, their donuts have unique flavors that are interesting. My favorite is the Alcapone because it’s not too sweet and it has almonds (which is also a favorite). Aside from the donuts and coffee, they also offer delicious sandwiches and fat-free J. Cool Frozen Yogurt. I’m speechless as to how yummy their frozen yogurt is. They can be topped with either fresh fruits like strawberries and kiwi, or assorted candies and chocolates. The store offers at least thirty variants of donuts and five of sandwiches (Cheezy Rich, White Velvet, Salami, Sausage, and Katsu).

This is actually the fifth branch in the Visayas, after two in Cebu and another two in Iloilo. According to J.Co marketing manager Alvene Ngo, many more stores will open in malls in Bacolod City. During the opening last May 27, the first 50 customers were treated to sweet treats and free half-dozen donuts. Ngo also added that the ingredients they use are imported from Indonesia, adding that “we are following the international standard of J.Co so there is a uniform taste of our product wherever you are.

Oh I’m so drooling over these treats. Too bad I’m cutting down on sugar. Will reserve this when I earn my cheat day.
