In life, there’s this one person we always look up to and trust the most. Like for instance a kuya or an older brother. This is exactly what Kuya J Restaurant wants to convey to its customers. Trust them to serve mouthwatering dishes that will surely satisfy all our cravings. Add to that their remarkable service.
After its successful launch and eventual increase of customers and supporters, Kuya J is continuously expanding. It will open up to 80 new stores in different parts of the country, including SM Davao; Solenad 3, Sta. Rosa Laguna; SM Cauayan, Isabela; Lucky Chinatown Manila; Ayala Serin, Tagaytay; Otis, Manila; and SM Cabanatuan.
Aside from that, the addition of Lumpia Presko, Kare-Kare, Crispy Pata, etc. in their menu brings in more diners. “Kuya J is Love” is indeed an appropriate slogan for its new campaign — that the way to a person’s heart is through the stomach.
Kuya J has indeed come a long way. Prior to the successful launch of their campaign last September 2015 featuring celebrity endorser Jericho Rosales, they only had 18 fully operating stores. By the end of 2015, they have opened an additional 12 stores in a period of only 3 months, for a total of 30 stores.
The resto’s success is attributed to its owner, seasoned restaurateur Winglip Chang, and the whole Kuya J team. Jericho’s popularity also made a big difference to Kuya J’s success. A lot of people took notice because he endorsed the restaurant. Some even thought he owned the fast-growing chain.
Kuya J’s fresh take on Filipino dishes is what makes every dish a special treat for the appetite. All of their dishes are delicious, but customers have their favorites such as —
Kuya J’s Kare-Kare (Php 260) which has the reinvented peanut sauce perfectly suitable for the Filipino palate.
Kuya J’s Crispy Pata (Regular Php 380 / Family Php 600), a perfectly deep-fried pork skin with tender juicy pata meat.
Lumpia Presko (Php 75), sautéed crabmeat and bamboo shoots filling rolled in malunggay-infused wrapper with sweet garlic sauce.
Grilled Scallops (Php 165) with cheesy butter topping.
Crispy Catfish (Php 325), battered deep-fried catfish seasoned with spices, served with chilli tuba sauce and bagoong mayo.
The classic dessert, creamy Mango Pandan (Php 55).
