The New SM City Bacolod Foodcourt

Just because times are tough, it does not mean that we can no longer eat delicious food. We can always go to any SM City branch and satisfy our food cravings at SM Foodcourt. I feel privileged to have been invited in the opening of the new SM Foodcourt at the 2nd Floor, Northwing expansion of SM City Bacolod last October 17. Not only was I able to savor many delectable dishes, it was also an opportunity to meet with my fellow bloggers, as well as the owners of Casa Ilongga and Chillers, and the SM City management team.

The foodcourt boasts of a fresher look because of the newly designed and more spacious dining area and open kitchens. More importantly, there are more choices of where to eat from. As of this writing only three stores have opened — Sbarro where we ate yummy Hawaiian pizza and pasta; Casa Ilongga which served us crab relleno and bamboo shoots stew; and Mr. Kimbob where we ate Kimchi as well as Bibimbob, their signature dish (and my new favorite food). For only P99, you get a nice serving of rice, ground beef, fried egg, and assorted vegetables in one plate. It was really filling!

However, diners should anticipate the opening of regular favorites like Kamay Kainan which serves sumptuous Filipino dishes, and sizzling steaks from Sizzling Plate. There are likewise new brands like Cebu’s Japanese fastfood, Tokyo Joe, genuine Chinese food like shanghai dumplings at Four Seasons, and eat a customized Mongolian bowl at Kublai Khan.
