Negros Power Ensures Seamless Voting In Central Negros With Steady Power Supply

As the nation reflects on the 2025 National and Local Elections held yesterday, May 12, Negros Electric and Power Corporation (Negros Power) confirmed that power supply across its franchise area remained stable and uninterrupted, contributing to the orderly and peaceful conduct of the polls in Central Negros.
From the early hours of election day until the close of ballot counting, Negros Power’s grid operations ran smoothly, thanks to comprehensive planning, proactive field deployment, and real-time coordination with key government agencies. The company’s efforts helped ensure that voters were able to cast their ballots without power-related disruptions.
Quick Response to Isolated Incidents
While overall service remained stable, minor and isolated power issues were reported at three polling sites — Pinuwayan Elementary School, Mailum Elementary School, and Bata Elementary School. All incidents were immediately addressed and restored within an hour by Negros Power’s on-ground response teams, minimizing any impact on voting activities.

Field Teams on Full Alert
To ensure round-the-clock readiness, Negros Power mobilized a total of 85 personnel assigned to:
- 20 roving teams
- 36 response teams
- 9 quick response units
- 12 line maintenance teams
- 8 organic response groups
These teams were strategically deployed across Bacolod City, Talisay, Silay, Bago, Murcia, and Don Salvador Benedicto. Two generator sets were also placed on standby as part of emergency preparedness protocols, although these were not activated due to the system’s overall stability.
“Our teams remained on high alert throughout the day to ensure seamless power delivery during this crucial event,” said Engr. Bernard Del Castillo, Chief Operating Officer of Negros Power. “The few issues encountered were swiftly resolved, and we are proud to have supported a smooth and successful election process for the people of Central Negros.”
Ongoing Coordination and Public Support
Throughout the election period, Negros Power maintained close coordination with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), local government units, and law enforcement agencies to facilitate smooth communication and quick technical response when needed.

The utility also encouraged the public to report concerns through its customer service hotline and official social media channels — both of which were actively monitored by dedicated teams.
Powering Democracy
By ensuring uninterrupted electricity, Negros Power fulfilled its mission of supporting democratic processes through infrastructure reliability and operational excellence. The company emphasized that post-election monitoring will continue until all related activities, including canvassing, are fully concluded.
Yesterday’s operations reflect not only the company’s technical capability but also its strong commitment to civic responsibility. As the region moves forward from the polls, Negros Power stands firm in its role as a trusted and dependable energy provider — powering communities through progress and public service.
