JVA Proxy Voting: Your YES Counts Even If You Don’t Personally Vote

Technology is advancing at a fast rate. The Philippines is a developing country and much as I would want the internet connection to be faster than it already is, isn’t the issue of satisfactory electricity service be more important? Besides, you wouldn’t have a WiFi internet connection if there’s a wide power blackout.

The point is blackouts should be a thing of the past. But why do we still experience long and unscheduled blackouts in Bacolod City? It’s because the electricity service provided by CENECO these past decades has been less than satisfactory.

How can the service improve? The answer to that is the Primelectric/Negros Power and CENECO Joint Venture Agreement (JVA). Once this pushes through, CENECO consumers will greatly benefit. Not only will long and unscheduled power interruptions lessen, but the price of electricity will also be cheaper. These are but a few benefits of the JVA.

Massive Campaign Launched for JVA Proxy Voting

Mayor Albee Benitez of Bacolod City has recently announced that the city has set up “proxy booths” that have been placed in different locations in the city. This is to help CENECO member-consumers who are unavailable or are unable to spare some time to go to their designated precincts during the continuation of the plebiscite in connection with the Primelectric/Negros Power and CENECO Joint Venture Agreement.

If we are tired of CENECO’s lousy service, want immediate and drastic changes, and feel that we deserve the best electricity service possible, then we should let our voices be heard by VOTING YES in the plebiscite. Remember, supporting the Primelectric/Negros Power and CENECO JVA is the only way that our electricity woes will be solved.
