Negros Power continues to enhance its power infrastructure with significant upgrades to the Panaogao and Sum-ag substations. These improvements are part of the company’s ongoing commitment to providing a more stable and efficient electricity supply for Central Negros consumers.

As part of its broader modernization efforts, Negros Power recently conducted preventive maintenance and system upgrades at two key substations. The Panaogao Substation in Silay City underwent maintenance on March 22, 2025, from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, impacting 10,221 consumers. The following day, March 23, the Sum-ag Substation received similar upgrades from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

These essential upgrades included:

  • Enhancements to the protection system
  • Installation of new insulators
  • Replacement of disconnect switches and current transformers
  • Correction of hotspots
  • Addition of specialized “tree wires” to mitigate vegetation-related disruptions
