Negros Power October Electricity Rate Rises By Just ₱0.02 Per kWh
Electricity consumers served by Negros Power will see only a slight increase in their October 2026 rates, with the adjustment amounting to ₱0.0204 per kilowatt-hour (kWh). This is considerably lower than the increases recorded by other electric distribution utilities serving Negros Occidental.
Based on the latest billing figures, Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (NONECO) registered an increase of ₱0.4807/kWh, while Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative (NOCECO) recorded an adjustment of ₱0.0863/kWh.
How Much Will Households Pay?
The difference becomes clearer when applied to monthly electricity consumption. For a household using 100 kWh, the October rate adjustment would add approximately ₱2.04 to a Negros Power bill.
By comparison, consumers under NONECO would pay an additional ₱48.07 for the same consumption, while those served by NOCECO would see an increase of about ₱8.63.
These estimates cover only the effect of the respective rate increases and do not represent the total electricity bill.
Electricity Rates Vary Among Utilities
Monthly electricity rates can change due to several factors, including power generation costs, transmission charges, and other components of electricity supply. Differences in supply arrangements and cost adjustments can also contribute to varying rate movements among distribution utilities.
The October figures show that the latest rate increase was considerably smaller for Negros Power than for the two other utilities.
Although electricity prices remain subject to monthly adjustments, the limited increase may help ease the immediate impact on household budgets and business operating expenses.
Consumers are encouraged to check their monthly electricity bills for the applicable rates and charges, as these may change depending on prevailing power costs and other factors.
