Negros Occidental Extends Php 2M Aid To Earthquake-Hit Communities In Sarangani

Negros Occidental has provided ₱2 million in humanitarian assistance to communities in Sarangani Province affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck in June 2026, reinforcing interprovincial cooperation in times of disaster.

The assistance was discussed during a visit by representatives from Sarangani to Negros Occidental, where they were received by Acting Governor and Vice Governor Joeben Alonso. The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange updates on the situation and coordinate support for communities recovering from the earthquake.

Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II said the provincial government had been in communication with Sarangani and welcomed the opportunity to discuss how Negros Occidental could extend assistance to those affected by the disaster.

Alonso emphasized that the ₱2 Million aid represents the province’s support for Sarangani as affected communities work toward recovery.
