Enjoy Sumptuous Food At Rau Ram (Saigon) Vietnamese Cafe In Bacolod City
Every now and then, it’s a good thing to indulge our palates with cuisines from other parts of the world. Although Filipino food is and will always be great, there are other cuisines worth checking out. If you happen to be in Bacolod City and you love Vietnamese food or simply want to try it out, dine at Rau Ram Vietnamese Cafe.
The Negros Bloggers together with Sylvia Gerangue, Rau Ram Cafe Owner (left-most) during the ribbon cutting ceremony
Owned and managed by Sylvia Gerangue and Andrew Cadayday, the restaurant has been serving authentic Vietnamese cuisine for about three years but it was formerly known as Saigon Garden Cafe and Restaurant. It used to be located beside the owner’s house but it has now moved to a bigger location. Sylvia got the idea of opening the resto because she had firsthand experience cooking Vietnamese food when she studied in Ho Chi Minh City. Rau Ram continues to attract foodies not just because of their delicious and unique dishes but also because of their excellent service.
Rau Ram Cafe Menu
Looking at their menu you’d probably have a hard time choosing what dishes to order since there are a lot of them. We were invited at the recent opening in their new location and we tried several mouth-watering dishes.
Bun Thit Nuong (Php 159)
Pho Bo (Php 159)
Suon Kho Man (Php 149)
The Bun Thit Nuong is a grilled pork and rice noodle salad which also has veggies. It’s ideal for those who want to have a filling meal without the unwanted pounds. The Pho Bo is a beef and rice noodle soup while the Suon Kho Man consists of braised beef served with pickled vegetables. It’s perfect with steamed rice.
Banh Mi (Php 75)
Ga Chien (Php 167)
Thit Kho Nuoc Dua (Php 109)
They also have Banh Mi, a Vietnamese Baguette sandwich filled with roast pork and pickled vegetables; Ga Chien, a five-spiced chicken served with Vietnamese fried rice; Thit Kho Nuoc Dua, a pork stewed in buco juice served on top of steamed white rice; Balut in Sweet Chili Sauce; c; Bo Kho; and Goi Cuon. We also had Vietnamese iced coffee that’s mixed with condensed milk and then poured over coarsely crushed ice.
Balut in Sweet Chili Sauce (Php 123)
Thai Pork Curry (Php 157)
Goi Cuon (Php 99 per 3pcs)
Ca Phe Sua Da (Php 60)
Rau Ram now has a bigger place to accommodate more diners. It has a wider parking lot, more spacious and elegant dining area with wooden chairs and tables, mason jar hanging lamps, wall murals, his and hers toilets, modern minimalist sinks, and classy patio.
Please visit and try for yourselves all their food and enjoy the resto’s delightful ambiance.

The Banh Mi looks yummy! I’m glad there’s a Vietnamese resto here in Bacolod. We have something new to try naman aside from the usual food that’s offered in different restos here in the city.
