Negros Power Expands School Safety Efforts Through Brigada Eskwela 2026 In Central Negros

Negros Power reinforced its role in community development and educational support as it took part in Brigada Eskwela 2026, a nationwide initiative preparing public schools for the new academic year. From June 1 to 5, 2026, the company extended its assistance to 23 public schools across Bacolod City, Bago City, Murcia, Silay City, and Talisay City, helping ensure that learning spaces are ready, safe, and welcoming for students.
Strengthening Safe Learning Environments
As part of the annual school preparation program, Negros Power employees worked alongside teachers, parents, school staff, and volunteers in carrying out cleanup and minor repair activities. These efforts focused on improving classrooms and facilities to support a more organized and conducive learning environment for learners returning to school.

Beyond general maintenance support, the company placed strong emphasis on safety, particularly in addressing potential electrical risks inside school campuses.
Electrical Safety Inspections in Partner Schools
In partnership with the Association of Barangay Electricians and Linemen (ABEL), Negros Power conducted free electrical inspections in all participating schools. The assessment covered key components such as wiring systems, switches, outlets, and other electrical installations.

The initiative aimed to detect possible hazards early and ensure that school facilities meet basic safety standards before classes officially begin. This proactive approach helps reduce risks that could affect students, teachers, and school personnel during the school year.
Wide Coverage Across Central Negros Schools
Throughout the week-long activity, several schools benefited from the program, including Ramon Torres National High School in Bago City, Murcia Elementary School, Eustaquio Lopez Elementary School in Silay City, and multiple schools in Bacolod such as Singcang National High School, Handumanan National High School, and Domingo Lacson National High School, among others.

The broad reach of the initiative highlights the company’s continued engagement with educational institutions across its service area.
Commitment Beyond Electricity Service
Negros Power emphasized that its involvement in Brigada Eskwela forms part of a larger mission to support communities beyond power distribution. By assisting schools in both physical preparation and safety evaluation, the company strengthens its contribution to public welfare and youth development.

Company representatives also underscored the importance of prioritizing electrical safety, noting that preventing hazards is essential in maintaining secure learning environments.
Advancing Community Safety Through Education Support
Through its participation in Brigada Eskwela 2026, Negros Power demonstrated a sustained commitment to education and community safety in Central Negros. Its combined efforts in school preparation and electrical inspections reflect a broader responsibility — ensuring that public schools are not only ready for learning but also safe for every student and educator who walks through their doors.
