Negros Power Marks 2nd Anniversary With River Cleanup In Murcia
Negros Electric and Power Corporation (Negros Power) marked its second anniversary by bringing its “Stronger Together” theme into action through a river cleanup activity in Murcia, Negros Occidental.
Held on August 4, 2026, at Purok Paghidaet, Barangay Salvacion, the environmental initiative gathered Negros Power personnel and representatives from government and community organizations to help protect the local waterway and its surrounding environment.
Community Partners Join Environmental Effort
The cleanup was led by Negros Power Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Engr. Joe-Mel Zaporteza, together with representatives from the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Municipality of Murcia, the Barangay Council of Salvacion headed by Barangay Captain Jenny Jimenea, and The Guardians of the Environment.
Volunteers worked together to remove various types of waste from the river and nearby areas. The collected materials were properly handled and disposed of as part of the effort to improve the condition of the waterway and help protect its surrounding ecosystem.
